These ladies have just finished their work cultivating the rice paddies, a labor-intensive, muddy task. The farmers usually mark the end of the planting period in a festive mood, singing songs, playing around in the mud, and generally having a good time.
Ashma Baruwal is a MPH graduate from Chulalongkorn University,Thailand. She is currently the Associate Director of Community Health for Nyaya Health.
