Nyaya Health is a non-governmental organization working with communities in Nepal and with the Nepali Ministry of Health to develop healthcare services in a poor, rural region in the district of Achham. Nyaya is currently seeking applications for the position of Data and Supply Assistant at Bayalpata Hospital, which is a full-service, free-care hospital that Nyaya runs in the Achham district of Nepal. Bayalpata Hospital serves an area over 250,000 people, treats over 2,000 patients per month, and provides 24-hour inpatient and labor & delivery services.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Data and Supply Assistant will work in close collaboration with the Hospital Accountant and the Hospital Administrator, and will also be in frequent contact with other Hospital staff as needed per the job responsibilities. The specific responsibilities of the Data and Supply Assistant include, but are not limited to:

1. To maintain rigorous documentation of all Hospital inventory, detailing both in-coming and out-going stocks
2. To oversee the procurement process when certain supplies’ stock needs to be replenished
3. To collect clinical, pharmaceutical, and program data from other Hospital staff and aggregate it into the central Hospital databases
4. To maintain the central Hospital databases, produce reports from them, and oversee their expansion / development a s necessary
5. Other duties, as requested by the Hospital Administrator or Executive Director

APPLICANT INFORMATION

Qualifications

A competitive applicant will have completed at least intermediate level education, with or without further training thereafter. A six-month computer diploma is strongly preferred, specifically with proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word. Work experience or training in database management experience is preferred, but not required. Nepali language skills are required.

Financial considerations and remuneration

Compensation will be considered on an applicant-by-applicant basis, contingent upon educational background and previous experience. All hired applicants will be remunerated according to the Hospital Financial policies.

Timeline

Applications will be accepted from July 1^st, 2010 and will be considered on a rolling basis until the position has been filled. The applicant should expect to start working no later than August, 2010, although earlier start dates are acceptable and preferred. Commitments of a minimum of one year are expected, but more are preferred.
